We’re currently winding down our glorious five-day weekend. No festivals this time but an event. An EVENT. All students were given Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday off so everyone could participate in the Sports Day activities held at the illustrious New Campus. Here, as you can see below, they have a proper stadium equipped with a field and a 400-meter track. The students who attend classes on this campus are “better” than the students at that the Old Campus with their dirt track. (New Campus students had higher test scores on their college entrance exam than Old Campus students). The Old Campus students who did well during their Sports Day got to compete against the New Campus students in their event.
The stadium was mostly packed with students sitting within their classes and one exceptionally noisy section contained students dressed in red and equipped with an array of noisy things like drums. And then, over the drums and cymbals, was the continuous din of “ZHI YOU! ZHI YOU!” (which, we finally learned, means “Cheer up!”)
Aaaah… summer. Notice the umbrellas? That’s because of the bright sunshine. Don’t want the Doodles getting darker skin!
