Cereal! I am boggled! March 17, 2009

Good news to report.  With our Internet consistently working the past few days and the move to a different, newer, much nicer apartment approaching, an equilibrium has been established.  I no longer want to murder all the Doodles.

Having a couple great classes so far this week has also helped.  We’re talking about different customs on eating.  I first amuse my students when I whip out a knife and fork and show them how to eat properly with those utensils.  I shock them when I insist it’s easier to eat noodles by twirlling them around a fork then using chopsticks.  (They laugh. Don’t think they believe me).  Then, I boggle their Doodly minds when I show them what “cereal” is.  (I found some in the tiny foreign foods section in the local supermarket).  Really, boggles their minds! Is it sweet?  How to do cook it?  What is it made from? I even walk up and down the rows of the classroom so they can all poke the plastic bag going “ahhh ahhh.”

That’s about all I got today.  Chris and I just spent the last two hours cleaning two year’s worth of dirt from our apartment accumulated over the past two weeks from leaving windows open to air the paint smell out.  We have now reached Dust Storm Season in Anyang.
